Hungarian Cooperation for those Effected by Flooding
The Hungarian National Council of Transylvania, the Hungarian Youth Council, the Transylvanian Hungarian Youth and the Providence Charity Organization have organized a multi-organizational cooperative project beginning from June 4, 2010 for the purpose of providing assistance to those who have been impacted by flooding in Hungary. Additional organizations have also joined our effort.
In the past several weeks we have been successful in helping with emergency relief for our fellow Hungarians who have been impacted by the recent floods, organizing both financial and in-kind gifts as well as volunteer work projects. Starting today, a one-week children’s camp is being organized in Várfalva, in the Aranyosszék region, in which youth from Hungary whose communities have suffered from the flooding there will gather together with Transylvanian Hungarian youth. The camp, with over 100 participants, will be followed by a later similar event in Székelykeresztúr in August. You can find reports about our prior relief activities on the www.gondviseles.org web site.
We have mobilized the available human and material resources of our organizations in the wake of this flooding to help those who are suffering. Because our resources alone will not be sufficient for the further assistances necessary to help those in need, we are calling on all those who would like to assist in our efforts in any way possible.
We are collecting financial support with the help of donor organizations, and we would also accept in-kind donations. We guarantee that all support collected will be passed along to those in need in accord with the purpose of this flood relief effort.

Its our turn for helping!
In the context of the floods that occurred in Northern-Hungary in the period of May-June 2010, we remembered the unprecedented national solidarity action that was started five years ago, by our fellow Hungarians living in the Carpathian Basin, when a similar catastrophe happened at Udvarhely Seat.
Many people helped out, everyone to the extent of their own capacity, and we formed a helping community, represented by a true Hungarian solidarity. Never have or could such social, human relationships develop, as they did at that time.Selection of participants – Development of private-public partnerships, phase 2 – „Forming the representants of potential groups”, in frame of RNDP 2007-2009, lot 4 for the North-West and Centre Region

Study trip
On 3rd June the Unitarian Local Development Team started from Odorheiu Secuiesc to its first study trip with enthusiasm and curiosity. The goal of this two-days-long study trip was to acquire information on good practices from rural area and to create relationships. We’ve traveled 770 km crossing different regions and meeting different type of success stories and wonderful peoples. The first station was Târnăveni where we have met with representatives of Hungarian Youth Association from Târnava Mică Valey. We talked about the subject of camp organizing. The association organizes successfully the summer camp for the Hungarian children from the scattered regions for more than ten years. The second station was Rimetea, where a local entrepreneur introduced us in specialties of rural tourism.
