Meeting of Local Action Groups organized by the Civitas Foundation

The meeting was focused on four different issues in the implementation of the LEADER Axis of the National Rural Development Program (PNDR):

1. Aspects of the relationship with the he Payment Agency for Rural Development and Fishing (APDRP) and Managing Authority (previous experience, identified problems, proposals for the implementation of the LEADER Axis)

2. Steps in the implementation and the contracting of LEADER (next steps – risks, solutions, the procedure of the judicial registering of the LAG-s)

3. Networking (experts network, international cooperation, using the googlegroup, establishment of a national federation)

4. Rural development initiatives (best practices – presentation of projects, opportunities , financing, cooperation, partnerships)

The presentations were followed by constructive discussions where the participants presented the local situations and challenges. The discussions were very useful, since many helpful solutions were proposed for the solving of the problems in implementing LEADER. These will all be collected and organized by the collaborators of Civitas Foundation in order to be presented to the responsible state authorities of the this axis.

At the meeting the participants decided to create a group of five people whose task will be to facilitate de collaboration between the LAGs and the Romanian Ministry for Agriculture and Rural Development.
